Patient Account Representative (Fully Remote - MN Residents Only)

Pay: $18-$21.25/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM or 8:00AM - 5:00PM (one evening shift required)
Type: Contract-to-hire
Location: 100% Remote


About the Role

We're seeking a Patient Account Representative to support healthcare clients by engaging with patients regarding their self-pay medical balances. This role requires strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to navigate revenue cycle, billing, and patient financial assistance conversations with confidence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to patients regarding outstanding self-pay balances
  • Manage inbound patient calls and resolve billing concerns
  • Offer financial assistance options to patients who do not meet standard payment guidelines
  • Set up payment plans and document account activity
  • Respond to questions about billing statements, insurance, and account details
  • Obtain and relay detailed account information to medical facilities
  • Review delinquent accounts and send final notices when required
  • Follow all client-specific SOPs, compliance standards, and regulations
  • Participate in ongoing training and shadowing opportunities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior healthcare customer service, medical billing, or revenue cycle experience preferred
  • Clear verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to interpret business documents, regulations, and account details
  • Basic math skills (percentages, interest, discounts, payment calculations)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Competent computer skills (MS Office, email, account systems)
